We live every day of our lives under The Rules, so at times it's worth reminding ourselves what they are. The Rules state that when Rosie O'Donnell makes flagrantly racist jokes, it's fine, because she's a morbidly obese lesbian, i.e. a victim. Conversely, when Kelly Ripa objects to somebody sticking their hands in her face, that's homophobic, even if the person doing the hand sticking hasn't outed himself. Of course, all of that is because Kelly Ripa is a very attractive, blonde white woman, which is one step away from the least victimlike class that exists (white men).
And so, when Rosie makes a big stink about Kelly Ripa, that's news. When Rosie is a legitimate racist, that's not news.
These are the rules. I just hope everyone remembers what a raging african American homosexual I am, if I ever get around to shooting Keith Olbermann.
