America is very proud of itself for going to the polls and sending a rebuke to the Republican party for the handling of the war in Iraq. Now we've got Democrats in the majority, and they're going to take a new approach.
Apparently that approach is to make George W. Bush look like an Islamic scholar in comparison.
Jeff Stein interviews Silvestre Reyes, the man that Nancy Pelosi has picked to chair the House Intelligence Committee:
Al Qaeda is what, I asked, Sunni or Shia?
“Al Qaeda, they have both,” Reyes said. “You’re talking about predominately?”
“Sure,” I said, not knowing what else to say.
“Predominantly — probably Shiite,” he ventured.
Wow. We are completely fucking doomed.
In case you didn't know the correct answer, what Mr. Reyes should have said was “I quit.“ AQ is 100% Wahabbi Sunni. Guessing at that, as a member of Congress, is not cute. If you don't know that, you should have the patriotism to resign immediately, because you are dangerously incompetent.
What the hell do these people do with their time? Has this guy been to a meeting, or even chatted with anybody else about the war, previous to being made a pivotal figure in our warfighting capability? How do you manage to be around Washington D.C. for any length of time, and not have this shit forceably explained to you? How do you lack the curiousity? How the EVER LOVING FUCK DO YOU FEED YOURSELF, YOU SLACK JAWED RETARD?
As readers of my blog know (that's you, Gosh), I am a pretty conservative person. But even I can see how bad things are in Iraq, how totally awful the Republican leadership is. But it's shit like this which proves my argument: I don't favor the Republicans because they're great, it's just that the Democrats are so abysmally horrible they manage to suck even worse.
I think we should draft a new law... On off year elections, we will add a new nationwide ballot item. The nation gets to vote, yes or no, if the entire government should be executed. Not fired. Not term limited. Executed, preferrably by gunshot to the head. The entire House, the entire Senate, the President, the Vice President, and hell, even te Supreme Court. Majority rules. Executed. Apparently the lives of 300 million people weren't sufficient grounds to pay even a modicum of attention to your job. Fine. Now it's your life. Think you can soldier through a memo now, you goddamn stuffed suit?
Before you call that extreme, think about this: Silvestre Reyes sat through an interview in which Jeff Stein demonstrated to him that he didn't know even the most basic, fundamental pieces of information necessary to do his job. This man is responsible for the safety and security of 300 million people. If your job is to protect 300 million people, and you are obviously unqualified for the job, and you fail to immediately recuse yourself from the position, then you are a putting 300 million lives at risk with your limited mental faculties. We fine and jail drunk drivers for putting a few dozen or a few hundred people at risk. This is about 50 million times worse.
