I'm going to copy and paste this one in, cause it's that good.
Three men are behind bars at the Dauphin Correctional Centre in connection to a suspected violent home invasion Saturday north of Roblin, RCMP said Monday.
It happened at about 3 p.m. at a farm 45 kilometres north of Roblin and involved two men kicking in a door to the house. In the minutes following, they terrorized the man as his young family looked on in fear.
The man managed to fight off both intruders and grabbed a firearm, chasing both intruders out to their vehicle.
RCMP said the man then fired at the car as it drove away. One of the men was slightly wounded by what’s thought to be from a ricochet.
Hours later RCMP arrested both the farm owner and the alleged intruders.
Harvey Joseph Young, 28, is charged with attempted murder, assault with a weapon, discharge firearm with intent, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowing its possession was unauthorized and breach of undertaking.
Terry Eldred Curle, 50, is charged with break and enter to residence, two counts of uttering threats, mischief under $5,000 and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

I can't really tell what's the most depressing about this story... Obviously it never ceases to blow my mind that people in this world have grown so sheep-like that they don't think it's ok to defend your life and property with force. But, I think it's really a new level of slave-think that people conducting a home invasion would be so upset about getting shot at, that they'd go to the police.
A society that doesn't allow you to shoot somebody who is breaking into your home via violent force is broken. It's a society of slaves, dependant on their government for even the most basic elements of safety. It's a society of pets. It's nauseating.
It's a collection of people who have said “I am too incompetent to trust my own judgement in defending my home, it would be better that my family and I be terrorized and at the mercy of criminals, than I be trusted with a firearm.“
Canada, you lose. You're a sad, broken little country. You have a crime in your country called “uttering threats.” You are not free. You are not wise. You are infantile little pets, and it's depressing to me that you're real.
