I have an idea: How about people stop coming out with all these idiot studies about how this food, or that chemical, has an incredibly minor longterm impact on some incredibly minor bodily function? In this example, “scientists” suggest that coffee might be a very valuable source of “anti-oxidants.” Previously we thought that coffee was bad for us. Now it's good. Sorta like eggs. And bran muffins. And potatoes. And pretty much everything else.
All I'm saying, is that if you are flip flopping between “good for you” and “bad for you” on something, it's probably neither, and you're an idiot. When we were all cavemen, it was definitely a valuable service for somebody to determine which mushrooms were good to eat, which ones made you see animal spirits, and which ones just killed you. These are all very varied and distinct effects, and to have them sorted out is important. But that work is done now. I don't need to know which foods will increase my chances of snarkiness by 0.05% if taken in large amounts. I don't care. Go invent a renewable fuel source or something, jerks.
