Some time ago, I noted that Keith Olbermann suddenly started jabbering about politics, instead of sports. I'm not sure why the execs thought he needed to make that transition, but I'd guess it's got something to do with how unfailingly liberal he is. I guess there weren't enough liberal points of view on MSNBC, they needed to bring a guy over from SportsCenter to give a perspective.
And what a perspective it is. What I've enjoyed about Olbermann, apart from the constant liberalism, is how he came roaring out of the gates with this arrogant, “been there, done that,” old political hand sort of attitude. He's telling it like it is, he's fully informed, he's mildly amused by the petty antics of little people like George Bush, Karl Rove, and now, Rush Limbaugh.
He's got all manner of scathing, demeaning comments for Rush. He sees right through Rush, and knows exactly what motivates him, all his hidden demons. Keith Olbermann knows how to say clever stuff when baseball players hit home runs, and how to have precisely timed back-and-forths with Stewart Scott. Keith Olbermann sees through men's souls.
And yet, as he turns a fickle, lordly eye upon the innermost thoughts of lesser beings, he's too much of a stupid fucking retard to actually listen to Rush's show. He uses the same out of context quote that all the liberal hacks are using, and he pats himself on the back for getting Rush to “run away“ from what he said. Only problem is Rush didn't run away, he replayed what he said, and he re-stated the context in which he said it. Lucky for Keith that none of his readers are likely to fact check his blog by listening to Rush either.
Keith... You're a two bit partisan hack with no credentials, and a bitter, hateful, irrelevant little blog, that you think is the most important shit ever to hit fiber optic cable. Keith, you're a sportscaster. Stop acting like you know anything about anything. Quit trying to call Rush Limbaugh out. Rush will do his thing, you do yours. Stop hiding behind your irrelevance.
