Lately I've just been fucking losing it. The American left is so far out of control, it's impossible for me to countenance.
It starts with Ohio Senator George Voinovich, who is nominally a Republican, but is utterly sold on liberal party semantics. This man's utter fucking idiocy is a spectacle to behold, and the way the major media outlets heap praise and love upon him is as flagrantly partisan as it is utterly predictable. Voinovich has made news of late for opposing the appointment of Bush's nominee to the UN, John Bolton. The media have taken this opportunity to heap praise upon him for crossing party lines, for being a moderate, and for following his conscience. It's much the same thing they did with Zell Miller, except the exact opposite.
The high point, to date, of this disgusting spectacle, took place last Wednesday, when Senator Voinovich took to the floor to voice his concerns on Bolton's qualifications as a UN Ambassador. His fundamental argument is that Bolton is stubborn, hard headed, a poor listener, and a bully. He feels these qualities match the image the world holds of the US, and to appoint Bolton would be to further solidify that view of America. He was so totally impassioned in his rejection of Bolton, that he actually started CRYING on the floor of the United States Senate. Crying.
In case it's not clear what's going on, I'll spell it out: A US Senator, who thinks he knows the line between strength and bullying, between confidence and stubbornness, is so fucking girlish and feeble, that he started CRYING ON THE FLOOR OF THE MOTHERFUCKING SENATE.
It's simply fucking incredible. What sort of expert do you think you are on grown up activities, Senator Crybaby? How much is John Bolton going to hurt this nation, compared to video tape of an American Senator CRYING? I bet that goes over very well in the feminine cultures of the middle east, right? Yeah. They respect a man who can cry over there, right?
Voinovich is actually stupid enough to speak of Bolton's “reputation.” He acts like it's a real thing, and not a fabrication of the Democrats, designed to discredit and destroy him personally. He acts like the perception of the US as a bully and unilateralist is valid, and something we need to actively disprove, and not liberal spin, which is best ignored and worked around. It's one thing to cave in the face of liberal attacks. It's another to treat them as valid and respectable ideas.
The level of willful destructiveness that the American left is partaking in right now is just fucking beyond me. They seek to attack and discredit all prominent figures in Bush's cabinet, to attach negative implications to everything the nation does. Their greed for power knows no limits. They're the authors of every Jihadist anti-American chant, and they point their fingers at Bush. It's gone too far. These people are totally out of control, they're dangerous, they're traitors, and they don't deserve to live under the protection of a military that they seek daily to undermine and damage.
The New York Times has just published an article exposing the CIA's semi-secret network of transport aircraft, used for shuttling enemy prisoners of note around the world. To them, this seemed a good idea to publish. These are intelligent people. They know that their decision puts CIA agents, and American intelligence assets at increased risk. They chose to publish the article anyway. They aren't taking calculated risks, they're literally an arm of the enemy's military operation. Not only are they the propaganda wing, they're the military intelligence wing as well.
I really don't know how to parse all of this. I can't wrap my head around a reality in which American Senators hate their own country above all. I can't make any sense of a news media that's so flagrantly deceptive, partisan and deliberately anti-American. How are we as a nation standing for this? How many Americans need to die before we understand that there's consequences to the things we do, and the views we hold? There's a reason that nations reserve the harshest punishments for traitors. It's beyond me why we've taken to rewarding them.
