Well, I finally hurt my car. I've had it for three years now, I'm not a particularly careful driver, I guess I was due. I was driving in my neighborhood, turning onto my street, in fact, and the snow was thicker and slicker than I thought. The car went into understeer, ran straight off into the curb, and fucked out the front driver's side suspension. It looks like a bent A-arm, and the rim is also ruined, with a large chunk shattered out. The tire was pushed back all the way to the rear of the wheel well, so much so that it broke the plastic well liner up, and wouldn't really turn.
Tow truck guy came and hauled it off to the dealership for work. He estimated it around $1500 in damage, which I think is reasonable, but maybe not for a German car. I don't think the damage is too bad, probably nothing to worry about, but I still feel guilty for not taking better care of my car. I guess I was due for something like this, though it doesn't feel particularly fun.
