I saw some reviews of this movie that said it tried to be politically even-handed, so I was a bit nervous going in, but I think it was really pretty conservatively slanted, which I appreciated greatly. I've always found Trey Parker and Matt Stone to be agreeable politically. They're pretty cynical about everyone, but I think they pull for Team Red in the end.
Anyway, when I asked Munk what she'd rate this movie out of 10, she said “Q.” Her reasoning was that it wasn't really a movie. I guess I have to agree, I definitely had a similar feeling when I was trying to score it... For what it is, which is a bizzare puppetshow, I'd give it a 10 out of 10. Since it's really not a movie, I decided to deduct two points and make it an 8 out of 10, but then I awarded it the mandatory +1 point that any movie gets for gleefully depicting the violent death of hippies.
All in all, it was a thoroughly rewarding experience watching this thing, whatever the hell it was.
