Contrary to the title of this entry, the American military does not use suicide bombers.  At some point between now and armageddon, I hope the fucking Iraqis figure this out.  I know the American left never will.

That's 68 dead Iraqi civilians, and 68 more victims of the insurgency in Iraq.  Obviously this is also 68 more “cred points“ for the liberals to proudly crow about, as they falsely accuse the US military of killing Iraqi civilians.  There may be hope for the Iraqi people, as evidenced by this quote:  “'These were all innocent Iraqis, there were no Americans,' one angry man shouted as Iraqis tried to cover the dead with pieces of cardboard.”

Now, granted he seems to think it's ok to blow up Americans, but at least he's catching on to the theme here:  Insurgents kill Iraqis, the Americans do not.  This is one step further than the American left has made it.  This Iraqi still seems to hate American troops, as our own liberals do, but at least he's beginning to notice that it's not American troops that are killing his countrymen, but rather the (often foreign) insurgents.  If he could make that incredible deductive leap, perhaps he'll eventually realize that the American troops are not his enemy.

Perhaps its his proximity to the situation that gives him this insight, but I think it's more likely his distance from the sheltered suburbanite lifestyle of the American left.  This man is actually in danger of being killed, so he's trying to figure out who's on his side, and who's not.  He's trying to manage his own survival, unlike American liberals, who are fighting a daily battle with their own white guilt.  It's this dynamic that gives me hope that the Iraqi people will rise to the occasion that the American left so pointedly refuses to even acknowledge.  I hope that in the end the Iraqi people's desire to survive outweighs the American left's desire to fondle its swollen and deformed sense of guilt, and that we all find the conviction and drive to see this thing through.
